So you are thinking about, thinking about starting the home
buying process. You’re not sure where to
start or even how to start. We at the Lisa DiNoto Group have put together a
few quick tips below to help get you through the home buying process. We've
even included a short video!
1) Get Pre-Approved –Getting pre-approved for a
home mortgage will be the first step in preparing to purchase a home. As a
starting point, you can walk into your current banking establishment and simply
let them know you are interested in being pre-approved for a home mortgage.
This process is always free and will be fairly simple. They can usually
pre-approve you within a few minutes. At which point they will discuss current interest
rates, down payments, and create a
financial plan that will help get you into your next home. At this point, you
can hit the home buying ground running!
2) Shop around online- Now that you know what kind
of buying power you have, you will need to narrow down a few cities and
neighborhoods you would consider purchasing a home in. The best place to start
is www.LisaDiNotoGroup.com Here you
can search homes anywhere in California, in the comfort of your home, office,
or from your mobile device. www.LisaDiNotoGroup.com provides current home
inventory for sale, accurate listing prices, neighborhood information, and if
you see something you like, you can even schedule a private tour. Don’t
hesitate to call either. Lisa DiNoto and the Lisa DiNoto Group offer free, in
office Buyer Consultations. This is especially great for first time home
buyers.
3) View at least 3 homes- We usually recommend seeing
anywhere between 3 and 7 homes for sale before making an offer. In areas where
listings are in high demand or not as many listings are available, make sure at
least 3 homes for sale are viewed before making a formal offer. This will give
you a good feel for what is truly out there in the Real Estate market, and help
you to be an informed buyer.
4) Look around- Be sure you are, checking out the common
features of other homes in the neighborhood, talking to potential neighbors, viewing
crime reports, and visiting local schools
& and shopping centers. Don’t forget to map out quickest route to nearby
freeways.
5) Do a Home Inspection- You found a home and your
offer has been accepted! Now what? Now, do all the professional inspections you
can! We always recommend hiring a professional home inspector, (we can offer
some great referrals). This will help determine if there are any costly
repairs, any cause for future concern, or if there are any unwanted features that
pop up that may have been overlooked in
the initial viewing of the home. Feel free to inspect every aspect of the home,
inside and out.
We know buying a home can seem overwhelming,
but following these simple tips during the home buying process will help to
ensure you made the right decision with the purchase of your home, and will
help to eliminate buyer’s remorse at the end of the transaction. And to ensure
